PENGARUH PENAMBAHAN PANDAN WANGI DAN KAYU MANIS PADA TEH HERBAL KULIT SALAK BAGI PENDERITA DIABETES [IN PRESS JANUARI 2015]
Abstract
Sejauh ini pengobatan diabetes yang telah dilakukan berupa suntikan insulin dan obat antidiabetik oral yang tergolong mahal dan memberikan efek samping. Seiring perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan, mengarahkan pengobatan diabetes menggunakan pangan fungsional, salah satunya adalah teh herbal. Kulit salak pondoh (Salacca edulis) memiliki khasiat dalam penyembuhan diabetes karena terdapat kandungan antioksidan seperti flavonoid dan tannin. Selain kulit salak, tanaman di Indonesia yang mengandung antioksidan yaitu pandan wangi dan kayu manis. Hal ini menjadikan peluang kulit salak, pandan wangi, dan kayu manis dapat dikembangkan menjadi teh herbal kulit salak untuk pengobatan diabetes.Dari hasil penelitian teh herbal kulit salak menggunakan perlakuan proporsi filtrat kulit salak : pandan wangi (60:40), (75:25), (90:10) (v/v) dan filtrat kayu manis (1%, 2%, 4%), diperoleh perlakuan terbaik pada proporsi filtrat kulit salak : filtrat pandan wangi (90:10) dengan penambahan filtrat kayu manis 4% memiliki total fenol sebesar 166.02 ppm, aktivitas antioksidan 76.62%, dan flavonoid (positif).Downloads
